Skateboarding season is officially on and a large number of competitions and skateboard events appear on the calendar for the summer season. To make sure you don’t miss any of these summertime free events happening in Montreal, check out this article.



Montreal is more and more considered as Canada’s skateboarding Mecca and for that reason, the city hosts several local and international competitions every summer. Among them, here are four totally free events that you definitely won’t want to miss this summer.

Am Getting Paid

We are proud to announce that the Am Getting Paid will be back in Montreal for the end of september and this year, the even will be bigger than ever. Why ? Because Am Getting Paid 2017 is also the final of the Boardr Am competition circuit, bringing together the best amateur skateboarders on the planet. With a lot of big names including some local riders like JS Lapierre and Charles Deschamps, the competition will be fierce and impressive. More details to come...

Although the Jackalope is not only a skateboarding event, it is an important competition within the industry and part of the official World Skateboarding Championship tour.

With big skateboarding players attending the comp every year, festivities throughout the whole weekend and tons of activities for all tastes and ages, the Jackalope is an event that will provide you with tons of fun for free.

The Skate Jams at Peace Park

If you don’t already know, the Peace Park, a legendary street skateboarding spot in Montreal, is now a place where skateboarding is completely legal. A big thanks goes to Dave Bouthillier for allowing us to skate the smooth granite of this parc, but also for the organisation of the Peace Park Skate Jams.

Every first Tuesday of the month throughout the summer, a Jam will be held at the Peace Park with free food, music and money to give away for the best maneuvers on the obstacles. Wether you want to participate or just hang out and take advantage of the park and the festivities, this event will not leave you disappointed. You may even leave a little richer!
