OUR STAFF’S TOP 4 DC SNOWBOARDING BOOTS
Originally starting with Softgoods in 1993, DC Snowboarding progressed into hardware in the blink of an eye, it didn’t take too long before the brand started to make boots and even boards. Since the start, DC Snowboarding has always been associated with urban snowboarding and was one of the first skate-to-snow brands to promote riding on cities urban architecture instead of in snowparks. With detailed designs inspired by some of the best riders in the world and cutting-edge technologies, DC Snow has since then put out some of the best snowboarding boots, boards and outerwear there is and always had the team to back it up.
Starting with Todd Richards on the original team along with Euro up and comers Lauri Heiskari and Ikka Backstrom, who’s still on the team to this day, the DC Snow squad was stacked with heavy hitters right from the start. The team developed in the 2000s with the addition of legends Travis Rice, Devun Walsh, Bjorn Leines and later Anto Chamberland and Torstein Horgmo just to name a few. Other than great products and great teams, DC is known for producing the best projects and putting out insane content year after year. The OGs who read this will remember the infamous DC MTN LAB, which was called a “private Research & Development facility”, but was really just a private mountain for the DC Team. The video that came out of this project for sure had an impact on a lot of riders who grew up riding in the early 2000s.
That is just one example of all the projects DC Snow produced over the years. Other recent projects include the Transistors video series, Ryo Aizawa’s insane part and iconic collaborations like the Star Wars x DC most partnership we’re just about to dive into.

DC decided to take their team favorite Judge Boa Snowboard boot and adjust it for the rampantly popular StepOn bindings. We like that for two reasons: one is that the Judge StepOn boot manages temperatures while ensuring a lightning-fast response from its stiff flex, and the second is that its StepOn compatibility means we spend less time fumbling to get on trail after sliding off the chairlift. What's not to love? You be the judge.
A DC team favorite boot now in the StepOn style, it features a Stiff flex that's extra responsive and very protective. The boot also features a Response III liner with Aerotech vents to manage the perfect temperature inside your boots while 3M Thinsulate insulation ensures your toes don't go numb.
