2 days at La Réserve, insane custom obstacles built by the Today’s Parks crew, friends and tons of fun. That’s the North Shore Project in a nutshell. After 2 years of not doing one single public event, it was the greatest feeling to finally be able to gather with friends for a heated snowboarding session.
That’s right, The North Shore Project was the first event since the beginning of the pandemic and was definitely one for the books! Last Friday and Saturday March 11 and 12, riders from all around the province showed up at Mont La Réserve for 2 days of snowboarding and good times with friends. Thanks to Monster, Salomon, Crab Grab and Volcom for helping to make this happen.
What better way than a photo gallery to show how nice that weekend was. Keep scrolling for our official North Shore Project photo recap.
THE COURSE
Before getting into our photo gallery, let us explain our setup a bit so you have a better understanding of how insane it was. First, riders could hit a medium size jump that was perfectly built by our friends at Today’s Parks. Jumps are getting pretty rare over here in Quebec, it was cool to see riders flying and spinning all weekend long.
Following the Jump, you had a massive rainbow rail where riders could show they gnar level and slide for a long time.
Last but not least, our multi-obstacles feature. With rails of all kinds, hips and even a spine, riders could get really creative on this one. Let us tell you that the show was quite amazing to see.
FRIDAY
It all started on Friday March 11th with our invitation only session. Advanced shredders came from all over the province to ride Today's Parks newest creation. Great snowboarding, ultimate fun, warm weather and a true Empire party atmosphere to top it off. Check out the action below.
Airs were catched and spins were spun. Here's Gabriel Gosselin flying into another dimension.
Our team rider Gab Jacques with one of the best grabs in snowboarding.
This giant rainbow rail wasn't for the faint of heart. Jérémie Dumont came through with the ultimate back lip steez.
If you wondered what we meant by multi-obstacles, well, that's what we meant.
Charles Morency attacking the drop down rail with Power.
When it's well tweaked and steezed-out like that, the simplest tricks always look the best. Frank Jobin.
Friendly snowmobile drivers were hooking up boarders with free rides to the top of the course.
Nicolas Fauteux with another one on the rainbow rail for good lock. Pun intended.
SATURDAY
You can be sure that we kept the fun going for as long as possible and made sure that the event was still on all day Saturday. And this time, everyone was invited! With a fresh snow from the previous night and comfy temperatures, more than 150 riders showed up to try our setup and smiles were contagious as we all celebrated the return of public gatherings.
Fellow boarders, preparing to get gnarly.
On with the mandatory jump session.
The level was high all day. Some were even sending front flips.
Another tweaked out slide on our favorite rainbow rail courtesy of our good friend Eric Ramirez.
A nice soft snow always make thing more interesting. While some shredded the setup, others went for the fresh pow around the mountain.
Nic Fauteux on the hip with the boned out melon grab.
Gap to back lips will never go out of style.
Same goes for gap to front lips by our good friend and Today's Park builder Jacko.
Jamming on the spine has never been so fun.
In good Monster Energy Fashion, a DJ was on site to keep the riders hyped with great tunes.
Yes Sir!
Last but not least, thanks to our partners Salomon, Crabgrab, Volcom and Monster, who were at the bottom of slopes all weekend with new products to try and check out. Just like the good old days!
