Description

The Arc'teryx Thorium is a women's down jacket built for cold-weather performance on the mountain. With a regular fit that layers easily, it's designed for skiers and riders who want serious warmth without bulk — whether you're lapping the chairlift all day or exploring in the backcountry.

At its core is 750-fill-power responsibly sourced grey goose down, distributed using Down Composite Mapping™, which places Coreloft™ synthetic insulation in moisture-prone zones and down everywhere else for consistent warmth. The lightweight Arato™ 30 nylon shell is highly abrasion-resistant, and an FC0-DWR treatment repels surface moisture without PFAS chemistry. Down Contour Construction™ lets the insulation conform to your body shape for better thermal efficiency, while the bio-derived liner reduces petroleum use. A helmet-compatible StormHood™ with a single-pull adjuster, stretchy cuffs, dual hem adjusters, and a packable stuff sack round out a feature set that earns daily use.

Who it's for

The Thorium is ideal for women who prioritize warmth and packability without sacrificing a clean, versatile silhouette. If you run cold on the lifts or want one jacket that transitions from resort mornings to après, this is it. The articulated patterning means you won't feel restricted whether you're carving groomers or hiking a skin track.

FAQ

Is the Thorium waterproof enough for a full day of snowboarding? The FC0-DWR treatment and moisture-resistant shell handle light precipitation and snow well, but the Thorium is primarily an insulating layer — it's best combined with a waterproof shell in heavy rain or wet snow.
Does it pack down small enough for a day pack? Yes — it includes a stuff sack and compresses to a packable size that fits easily in a backpack or bag.
