The K2 Sky Pilot is a directional all-mountain snowboard engineered for riders who want to dance through tight trees, charge pillowy pow, and read every feature the mountain throws at them. Developed with pro rider Sage Kotsenburg, it targets intermediate to expert snowboarders who demand a responsive yet forgiving tool in variable backcountry-style terrain.
Available from 148 to 163 cm, the Sky Pilot rides on a slightly wider-than-average platform and delivers a medium flex (approximately 5/10) designed to pivot freely without sacrificing stability. Its directional shape uses VolumeShift geometry — shifting mass toward the waist so you can downsize 4–10 cm from your usual length — while 3D Base Contour spoons (3 mm) in the tip and tail lift the contact points off the snow for effortless turn initiation. The S1 Core blends bamboo, aspen, and paulownia for a damp, snappy feel, and the Carbon Y-Beam channels energy to the nose contact points while adding tail snap — all wrapped in Triax fiberglass and a fast Wax-Infused Sintered 4001 base.
If your ideal run weaves through pillowy forest shots and ends in deep, untracked snow, the Sky Pilot was essentially built for you. Its tail release and pivot-friendly design reward creative, skate-influenced riding without punishing you when the terrain gets technical. The all-gender sizing range — with scaled waist widths for smaller feet — makes it a genuine quiver-of-one for riders across the size spectrum.
