The North Face Summit Casaval Hybrid Hoodie is a technical insulating mid layer built for alpine athletes who refuse to choose between warmth and mobility. Whether you're climbing, skiing, or moving fast in the mountains, it's engineered to keep up without slowing you down.

Construction & Specs

Weighing just under 500 g (1 lb 1 oz), the Casaval is insulated with 40 g/m² VENTRIX™ — an active synthetic fill made from 80% recycled polyester that vents during output and traps heat when you stop. The main body pairs a 40D recycled nylon-elastane fabric with FLASHDRY™ technology, while the yoke, sleeves and hood use a lighter 20D × 30D ripstop with FLASHDRY-XD™ for enhanced moisture management where you sweat most. A non-PFC DWR finish across all panels adds weather resistance without the harmful chemistry. The regular fit and full-length YKK® SOFLEX® stretch zip give structure without restriction.

This hoodie is made for climbers, ski mountaineers and backcountry riders who generate serious heat on the way up but still need insulation at the belay or the top of the lift. The underarm gussets, seam-free shoulders and articulated construction mean it moves with you in arms-up positions — no bunching, no binding.
