If you want to ride during the Empire Games snowboard contest, make sure to be there early in the morning, the spots are limited.
Presented by Monster Energy and Burton and in collaboration with Oakley and Volcom, the Empire games 2017 are real unique experience. If you are part of those who have already entered snowboard competitions, you can be sure that the Empire Games are something you have never seen or experienced before. No matter if you are a professional or an amateur, you will be served in pleasure, guaranteed.
How it works?
For those who are not familiar with the Empire Games yet, here’s how it works: A one on one race on a perfectly cut mirror course, three categories: Open, women and 15 and under, a random draw to determine which rider will choose his side of the track first and then a run. With only two competitors left at the end, the first to cross the finish line will then be named winner of the Empire Games.
- 9 am : Opening of the Super Demo Exhibitors’ Village
- 10 am : Opening of the course / free practice
- 11 am : Junior category competition
- 12 pm : Women’s category competition
- 1 pm : Expression session and course maintenance
- 2 pm : Open competition, wave 1
- 3 pm : Open competition, wave 2
- 3:30 pm : Semi-finals (32 participants)
- 4:15 pm : finals (8 participants)
- 4:45 pm : Podium
The course
Divided into ridiculously fun sections, our course will surely take you out of your comfort zone and satisfy the biggest thrill seekers out there. Ladies and gentlemen, here’s what’s waiting for you on the Empire Games course next march 25th.
The Rythm Section :
The first section of the Bromont Empire Games course. For the Rythm Section, you have two options: you hit two jumps back to back or you slash through the pockets on each sides of the jumps. For more points, do tricks on the jumps and mix them with the pockets.
The Scorpion :
For the second obstacle of the Empire Games Bromont, you will have to sneak on tight mounds followed but two out of alignment jumps. Pushing you directly to the third obstacle, be careful not to be unbalanced by the jumps that will pitch you crosswise on the course.
The Batcave :
Right after the Scorpion, the Bat Cave. An obstacle that offers several options: you can pass under it, over it or even on the sides. After crossing the second obstacle, that might make you lose balance, keeping your speed will be a challenge.
The Pizza Pocket :
At the exit of the Batcave, no time to think, you are now in the Pizza Pocket section. A series of tight pockets and incongruous bumps that will allow you to gain speed or, the opposite, make you lose your balance. Who Knows ?
The Another Tube In the Wall :
Probably the most unique obstacle of the whole race, the Another Tube In the Wall consist of a vertical wall mounted on a bump in the middle of the Empire Games track. A wall on which will be installed plastic tubes in a rainbow shape. You have several options for this obstacle, but if you’re able to slide through the row of plastic tubes, major respect!
The Finish Him :
To complete the Empire Games Bromont race, a classic. The Finish Him consists of a flat box on which the rider must absolutely pass in order to finish the race. Two at the same time, one over the other or one after the other, the Finish Him in inevitable.
